From the Loch of Funzie to the Haa of Funzie

The Hide at the Loch of Funzie. It is a small hut where people can watch birds on the wetland area at the Mires of Funzie. Funzie is pronounced Finnie.

Here you can turn left to go up to Everland. We are going to go straight on to the Haa of Funzie. We will go up to Everland later.
A traditional crofthouse called the Knowes. It has a spectacular view of the beach and cliffs at Funzie.

The ruined building on the left is the Haa of Funzie. It was an important fishing station from the late 1700s.

This is the new(er) house at Funzie.

On the stony beach at Funzie, and on the hill above, you can see Fetlar's famous conglomerate, rock which was formed by pebbles and stones being squashed and stretched within sediment like sand.

On a calm day at Funzie, you can often see seals basking on the rocks.
